Q: What is Fantasy Team of 16?
A: Fantasy Team of 16 is fantasy sports game, like fantasy basketball, football, etc. The only difference being that it happens only during the Men's College Basketball Tournament in March. And instead of focusing on just the bracket, this contest focuses on picking 16 players; the 16 highest scoring players in the tournament.

Now because this game focuses on the players and not the bracket, that doesn't make it any easier. As a matter of fact, it takes a lot more skill in this game because not only do you have to pick the right team, but also the right players. Q: How do I play, I don’t know any of the players?
A: Asking that question is almost a rite of passage. Before you know it, you’ll have 35 players and you won’t be able to downsize your roster to the final 16. Your first step should be to fill out your bracket. Use your bracket as a guide. Your bracket will help determine which teams you have making it to the third. And since the object is to pick the 16 highest scoring players in the Men's College Basketball Tournament a majority of those players will reach the third. The challenge is choosing the correct ones.
Q: I just tried to pay for my Premium League, but my state does not show up in the drop down menu?
A: If you are attempting to pay for a Premium League and you DO NOT see your state in the drop down menu, then you are not eligible to play in our Premium Leagues ,and therefore, ineligible to receive prizes. Please play in one of our Public Leagues or create your own Private League. (Click here to see the Prize Eligibility, and therefore a complete list of the ineligible states).
Q: Why isn’t there a draft?
A: A draft option is planned in the future. The way we’ve always played it in the past is to have the field open to any selection. However, we want to give all participants options for their own league so look for this in the future.
Q: Can I add Rebounds or Assists?
A: Not as of yet. Again, just like question #4 we never have had that option in the past. However, to ensure our participants have the ultimate tournament experience we will consider that in the future.
Q: What happens if a player on my roster gets hurt?
A: Injuries are part of the game. If an injury happens to any player during the tournament you may lose that player for the duration of the tournament.
Q: What if I want to choose a player from one of the "Opening Round Play-In Games"?
A: Fantasy Team of 16 is set up only for the tournament of 64 teams. This will be considered as a future option.
Q: Where do I submit my bracket?
A: This is not a bracket tournament game. Although, we highly suggest you fill one out to help determine where you might want to pick your players, but no bracket is required to submit. It’s only for your reference.
Q: What is the "Perfect 16" and "League 16" that I see in the standings?
A: The “Perfect 16” is a list of the top 16 scorers in the tournament. The “League 16” is the top 16 players chosen by all the participants in your league. Both of these are shown for your reference only.

Rosters:

Q: What if I submit my final roster, then want to make a last minute change?
A: Changes can occur within the final roster up until tipoff of the first game in the tournament. (Note: as of yet Fantasy Team of 16 does not include the "Opening Round Four Play-In Games".)
Q: Why can’t I pick more than 5 players from any one team?
A: The only roster limitation we have is that you limit your Fantasy Team of 16 team to 5 players from any team in the tournament. This forces participants to have players from at least 4 teams on their roster.
Q: While putting my team together, I noticed that all the NCAA team rosters aren't full. Where are the remaining players?
A: Fantasy Team of 16 makes a judgment call on what players it chooses to include. Normally the top 8 scorers are shown. Please contact us at info@teamof16.com if you feel a player worthy of selection has been missed.
Q: Where do I make roster changes during the tournament?
A: There are no roster changes after tip-off on Thursday. Once the tournament has begun, all teams are set.

Account:

Q: How do I enter?
A: You must first register. Then create a roster, choose your league of choice or create a league. Your rosters and leagues will be listed on your member home page. Your roster is not complete till you fill out your tie-breaker.
Q: Do I need a Username and password?
A: Yes, you will need a Userame and password to play Fantasy Team of 16. This Userame and password is your ticket to your account when you want to create your team, check your score, etc.
Q: What if I have lost my Username and password?
A: Click on Forgot Username/Password link. Enter your name and email address and we will email you your Username and password. If your email address has changed, you may contact us using our contact form or email us at info@teamof16.com, provide your name and request this information.

Scoring:

Q: What is the statistic that the scoring is based on?
A: Currently for Fantasy Team of 16 all scoring will be based on a player’s points scored only.
Q: What is the lag time or delay between the tournament games that are being played and the scores updated real-time?
A: The lag time between the Tournament games and the time that you see the scores updated can vary between 60 and 120 seconds. A manual refresh is required to see score updates.

Tie-Breaker:

Q: What happens if two participants end up with the same roster after tip-off?
A: The 4 Tier Tie-Breaker you fill out as you submit your roster ensures that even if two people did have the same roster, (and it probably will happen sooner or later), a winner will be declared in the event of a tie.
Q: When do I submit my tie-breaker picks? I don’t see it anywhere within the Game Zone.
A: Your roster is not complete till you submit a tie-breaker. Your tie-breaker will be available for you to submit after selection Sunday and must be submitted before Thursday's tip off. See the "How to Play" page for more details regarding the Tie-Breaker.
Q: Do I need a separate Tie-Breaker for each roster that I submit?
A: No. Only one Tie-Breaker is needed for all entries, (ie, rosters), that you submit.

Prizes:

Q: Are there any prizes for finishing first in a regular Public or Office Pool league?
A: There are no cash prizes for regular Public or Office Pool leagues. For the General Admission (overall) league the top 16 teams win fan gear and the highest overall team will win the gaming system . There are three levels of Premium leagues which do offer cash prizes to the winners.
Q: When do we get our prizes for winning our league?
A: Once the tournament is over. Team of 16 will contact you via e-mail with a Prize notification. See How to Play (Prizes page) for full details.
Q: How do I report my winnings on my taxes?
A: For customers who receive $600 or more in a calendar year, Team of 16 will send you a form W-9 which you must fill out and return to us within (30) days. Based on this information we are required to file a form 1099 with the IRS the following the tax year. A copy of the 1099 also will be supplied to the prize winner to aid in tax preparation. The prize winnings are accumulated for all prizes awarded during the tax year and are totaled regardless of whether or not the prize money was placed on a Team of 16 account or issued as a check.

Team of 16 cannot provide tax advice. Please consult your local tax advisor with any tax questions you may have regarding prizes.

Payment:

Q: When do I get my additional "Premium" rosters discount?
A: The discount for the additional "Premium" rosters is taken off at checkout.
Q: What if I want to play in a couple different “Premium” leagues. If I pay full prize for one “Walk-On” premium league, do I get a discount if I join a “Draft Pick” premium league?
A: No. You have to pay full price for each individual “Premium League” first before you qualify for the discount. For example, if you play in 2 “Walk-On” Premium leagues, then a discount for the 2nd “Walk-On” premium league will be given. However, if you play in one, (1) “Walk-On” premium league and one, (1) “Draft Pick” premium league, then you will be charged the full price for each.

Q: How do I enter the Gaming System sweepstakes?
A: No purchase necessary to enter or win. To enter the Gaming System sweepstakes you must be a registered user and submit at least one complete roster with tie breaker. Only entries in accordance with these Official Rules will be accepted. The overall winner will be determined as the team with the highest score of the General Admission League at the end of the contest. See*
Q: How do I get free gear?
A: Team of 16, (T16), would like to say “Thank You” to those users who get 10 or more of their friends as registered users who submit at least one roster. The user registration can come through either the invitation or referral method. For those users who do get 10 or more of their friends, T16, is offering “Free” Fantasy Team of 16 fan gear. Once T16 receives confirmation for 10 registered users, a notice will be on your member home page to select the Fantasy Team of 16 fan gear of their choice. Q: Can I get more information regarding the “Top 16 entries in the General Admission public league” wins free Fantasy Team of 16 Fan Gear?
A: Fantasy Team of 16 wants to reward the users who enter the top 16 entries by giving them Free Fan Gear. It’s our way of saying “Thanks for playing and to a job well done”.
